How does iGen4 compare to XC1000?

We've owned our 1000 for 5 years - one of the very first 1000s in the market from what I've been told. This year, we're upgrading, and from what I can gather, we're going to be upgrading to iGen4s... no one can seem to tell me anything really solid (the purchaser is just saying it's good, Xerox, of course, always says they are great).. so from you guys whom work on them, how do you like the iGen4s? We work up around a range of low 300k to 500~750k range of impressions per month.

Hello. In our workshop we have 2x XC1000 and 3x iGen4s and 1x iGen3.
Comparing the 2 machines i would say a iGen4 printer is a bit more reliable when it comes to color and uptime.
The 1000 is having alot of duplex registration issues we never see on a iGen printer. The feeders are working much better on iGen, you dont have to change the feedrollers every other week.
As a operator, in my opinion we have a lot more tools to get the iGen back up and running if it for some reason breaks down, or having color issues. The 1000 usually leaves you with a fault code and then you have to wait for the tech.
The color consistency running large jobs on the printers is pretty much the same i think.
In my shop i would say if we have to print a booklet lets say 2500 duplex sheets i will always go for the iGen printer, if i need to print 200 sheets of postcards in high quality, i go for the XC1000.

I service the igens and 800-1000s. The igens are far superior in uptime and run volume. They're built to handle almost anything up to 350gsm. I would take an igen over an 800-1000 any day.

I used to service both machines also. I would also take the iGen over the 800-1000 for build quality, up time and quality. Not saying the 1000's are bad but they need alot of TLC to keep them running 100%
