I am having a problem with the Presstek 52DI, I am not getting any errors on screen but cant image with the laser. It is very strange because I am not getting any errors.

When I start imaging , the machine starts spinning as usual and all looks fine but the imaging never stops. When looking on the NSA software I get the following... See attachement. Usually I can see the progress information.

I have tried both towers independenly, but having the same issue on both.

Any help or advice please would be very appreciated.

Dear Sir:
Hi hope you are well
Normally when this happen you must look for the most single reason"Common sense" the function
is similar to Heidelberg QMDI64 +SMDI74.
Look for 1) loose connectors, corroded, with oil, broken, or dirty. Clean it very well with Contact Cleaner for electronic device, you can buy it from any electronic store, like Radio Schack, etc. 2) Another common failure
is Some problem with the Power supply, Test the Fuse or Circuit Breaker, Follow the Schematic D
if you have, a tracking the line with a DMM.

  • Thanks Chock,

Checked all cables and cleaned them but still having problems. We cleaned all sensors , adjusted the sensitvity of each sensor and managed to print again ... But now I get the same error must have been a coincidence, We managed to print two jobs and again the error that doesnt let me image . Maybe something is heating up...

On NSA I keep getting this "NSC: 0 State: 10005002 Status: 10004003 Error: 10006003 Stepper Safety Detect".

When I was able to print on NSA I get: "NSC: 0 State: 10005002 Status: 10004003 Error: 10006000 No Errors".

    Hi sir:
    Good day.
    I did see the problem:
    a) Test the power supply +5+12+24Vdc in according with His Schematic Diagram
do not have, but if you send me a copy PDF, can help you more.
b)The tolerance from any power suply for SMPS is very Critical, example +5Vdc Not more 5.08-5.12Vdc, otherwise
the IC digital circuit can be Faulty, and consequently given error or Abnormal problems
    c) The sensors test if the power supply feeding is O.k , and if there are Voltage, see if there are in Tolerances and explained
before, or the Sensor can be faulty by the power supply giving Heating up = Error
Of course there are other possibility the Software can be Corrupted. Test very well.

I was checking the Schematic D.
1)You must test the Power supply with DMM(digital Multimeter) like FLUKE.
If you see the page 8 of Schematic: You must test the following Voltages: +12+ +24+15+5v
All this Voltages a DC NOT AC. Cpu or Microprocessor has +5+15 Very Critical!!
If you want more explanantion send me email
    2) Test the sensor, Normall they are I.R, is easy to do it, with his cell, and camera from his cell, focus the sensor, you will be
Lit The light, Carefully You can Not see with the Normal Eye. if they are Lit are o.k otherwise is faulty, of course they must have
    Voltage Normally. +24Vdc.
    c) Important :test the Grounding, maybe are Leaking in the system, since you indicated me, that you noticed electric shock, in the
first page, they are the indication from 1Megaohms, between Power line and Ground, if they are NOT reading the 1MO, the system
is faulty, and by that reason you have Unstability in the power supply, etc.

    Amazing. Will check.

Here is a photo of where I think I need to test. With the red and black cable on the multimeter set on DC how would I test each color?

When you open your top guard(s) please check that the removable guard above the rollers, just next to the imaging unit, is securely fitted and screwed in place!
    That is the stepper safety!

Thanks Morten, that was the problem, the metal switch was pushed back and wasnt activating the indicator switch. attached some photos.

    Hi there.
I know that this issue has been solve since 2017, but having the same error and couldn't detect exactly where the removable guard above the rollers and the metal switch are located, i would like your help so i can identify both.
Also, i would like to let you know that i am having this issue after the KBA 46 karat finish booting up: the operating stand screen goes directly on waiting and after that, nothing hapens and the message stays there. Attached are the pictures of what i have. Note that my KBA 46 karat is the same as RYOBI 3404X-DI offset press.
    Yours

    ok sir
    Do this steps:
During the measurement, the scanner is not moved within 2 seconds
after double clicking the start key.
    The communication cable is disconnected.
    The power cable is disconnected.
The measurement bulb has burned out.
Check and correct the situations above, then perform the measurement
    again.

Hello, which scaner is it about. Also, which start key, on the operating stand? How do i find measurements bulb that could be burnt out? I really don’t know the measurements that you are talking about. Please clarify me on that.
    Thanks again for quick reply.

  • You may need to open the side panel to have a good look, this rod activated a sensor. That was my problem

sorry could also have been this one... can remember exactly
