How come you have got 2 consoles and 2 screens at the front of you press??

Not sure why , all 3 XLs have the same set up , we run with 3 man compliment 1st , 2nd and operator...sure is a nice situation , Im only temporary there but Im learning what I can while Im there , this shop wants numbers and a good job , usually hang plates run a hundred , get fit , run a hundred or so then get rule out and pretty much we are on the counter after that!....its a very impressive machine!!
The new XLs have a huge monitor at the console I heard , have you seen these??

    "Image Control unit"
Isnt that standard equiptment? thats nice how you can send the correction to the press , or not. then you can deselect units you dont want to control...similar to the Roland 700 , just better...;)

Three guys on the press, wow what a luxury that must be, I thought it was al 2 man crews these days, the last shop I worked in I was running a 12 colour speedo with just the 2 of us, it was almost bearable until wash up time!

Well apparently this company has a contract with Heidelberg for monthly service so they spend a lot but they get a lot in return.....

Yes its quite a good situation....but , they expect numbers too! and they get them , friday night the warehouse guy brought 170000 sheets of cover stock into the pressroom , all cartons so ya need the extra guy IMO.....

Not proud of this but ran a 5 col Speedmaster on my own for a few weeks.
It had the basic CPC1 and conventional damps.

That WAS a workout, believe me.

Cartons? forget it, I would have shut down the press until I had opened every single one.

Before last Drupa there was rumours, that KBA will come out with press, that has speed of 21000. But really, do you need that kind of a speed at the sheetfed press?
