Hi all, i am a freelance machine minder and new to this forum today!
I have recently helped to install a CD74-5 colour with axis control 1 into a company. Press is running nicely, but they are unable to link the press to their pre-press as they are not running a complete Heidelberg system. Their pre-press does not recognise the press on it's system. We think it is due to the Heidelberg licence. Is this the case, and is there a way round it?
    Many thanks.

yes, get the company to purchase a licence, that's how they will get it all to work.

Thank you Mr H. This does seem the general opinion! Obviously they are not getting the most from the set up, as we can't import cip3 files, or even make a start on using the presetting and curve options.

Original HD License is not a must

The cost of the original S/W license is high , and you can get the same result with cheaper S/W that works.
I believe you are at a 10:1 ratio....
If HD will charge you 1000 GBP (and they will charge much more) , you will be able to get it to work at 1/10 of what ever they charge....

    Good luck
