    Good day,

I'm just new here I hope you could help me in my problem. We are experiencing a gripper problem in our machine. There are times that the gripper would damage the paper or tear the paper when printing.

How can we solve this problem?

    Thank you

Where is the tear happening? Swing gripper or impression grippers?

If this issue shows itself on every sheet you can do a hard stop of the press while its printing at production speed. If you've got a tight brake the press should stop within a single revolution. You can then open up the gate and have a visual of just where the tear is occurring.

Sir we check the machine and it showed that the grippers are out of tune. We manually calibrate the grippers some materials are good but when we print solid colors thats the time the tearing appears again. Do you have any idea or tools that we could buy so that the grippers could be calibrated all the same?

    Thank you.

Do yourselves a favor and pay someone who knows the proper steps. And has the tooling.

We already paid two technician to do it for us yet the problem still exist and they themselves don't have proper tools. that's why I'm looking for tools that could help me calibrate the gripper. You could help me by sending me a photo or supplier where I could buy a tool/s that could help me calibrate the gripper that would be a big help for me.

    Thank you.

Hi don chan the tooling required for gto are a degree wheel, shaft, zero guage and a service manual to get all the correct timings. You can't buy these at a shop they are heidelberg tooling not for sale to the public. If the Techs you got in aren't ex heidelberg they won't have the tooling or knowledge. You could do check on the cam follower to see if it's worn or seized.
    Good luck

If a single gripper is set incorrectly to the point of ripping the sheet you should be able to see the discrepancy by eye. Can you?

Before tuning the grippers, be sure that they're out of tune at the first place.
