    Hello all,

I have been having an issue with my Xante Ilumina 502. Upon startup, it's giving me a message of "fatal error 142". I've already searched the code online and found out it's caused when "Color ID up/down error is detected". The xante service manual says to "Confirm that the Y, M, and C ID units are in position, and reboot". However, I cannot find any further remedy or instructions.

Has anybody encountered this issue? Hope to shed some light on this one...

    Thanks guys,

Open top cover and try closing it, look if black plastic shield that lower to protect LED heads retract back-up, if any of they stays down, you'd be able t close the cover but it will prevent Imaging unit going up/down when initializing and cause an error. Just open top cover all the way up and start closing it, see if those shields will start retracting back up all 4 simultaneously.
Have you replaced any drums lately?
