Not sure I agree with unrelialble electronics on any SM52, but there are a few things to look for. Main thing is it clean, has it been maintainanced regularly, if it has a perfector check for excess movement in the spring loaded and fixed grippers, check cylinder condition, do a breakaway on all units including coater, never bring your own grease gun when looking at used equipment, always ask to use theirs. This will tell you how often it has been greased. Bad sign if they have to find a grease gun. It will also tell you what kind of grease they are using. Make sure all pumps work including ametech blowers. Check condition of rollers. That should be a good start. SM52 is a very solid machine. Ive seen many that print very good well over 100 million impressions.
