Does the Mitsubishi silvermaster activator and stabilizer chemicals the same for both Paper and Polyester plates? I've always used paper plates and wanted to know if the chemistry was the same for polyester plates.

  • Funny, I just realized I have been using the poly plate activator with my paper plates. Went to see the label to search for a source and stumbled on your post. Not sure about the stabilizer because that is labeled for silvermaster.

I have used both ploy and paper at different times in the last 20+ years and wasn't even aware there was different chemistry for each, so my guess is no there probably not much if any differance.

It’s the same for paper and poly. been using 8milblack poly film rolls for 25 years in abdick 148 and 617s platemakers with Mitsubishi or abdick activator and stabilizer. I drain it every night to extend life. Chemicals oxidize if you leave em in the tanks and only last maybe 2 weeks or 50 or so good image plates draining every night gives me 2 months max or 75-100 plates. Sometimes when they get weak I’ll throw in about 5-6 ozs of each chemical and get another week out of em.
