3302 Roller marks about 4" from gripper

Hello,

Having problems w/3302 Roller marks about 4" from gripper running pro 3 solution have crestlines and have just replaced the bearings and pan rollers it comes and goes, if a loosen the metering roller i get to much water and the ink emulisfies. Any ideas.

Water chemistry may have. Issues here. Check your pH levels of your solution. Also look at your roller stripes. Make sure they are in spec,s. Normally around 3/16". A flat spot on a roller will also cause this type of problem.
Just a few things to look for.

Roller marks can come from bad bearers on the larger presses to bad bearings on the smaller presses and improper adjustments to the machine. I had a problem on the 3302 and it turned out the fix was end play in the ink forms. On the non operators side at the end of the forms on the very bottom is an allen screw which needs to be loosened and an allen at the end of the shaft that needs to be tightened slightly. Remember to retighten bottom allen when done to lock it. No more roller marks !!

Have changed the bearings on the crestline and there is no end play on any forms?? Blanket is tight, plates are tight, pressure from plate to blanket are in specs, can not figure it out!!

Believe me when I tell you I had the same thing which was happening on the second head about 4 inches from the gripper. A Ryobi tech told me to go to the end of each bracket that holds the inking forms loosen the allen on the bottom of bracket and turm clockwise the allen in the end. There is a nut that fits on the end. I couldnt feel any side play but I tightened one half a turn on the ends and then tightened bottom allen and mine stopped putting that 1/4 inch wide toning bar accross the sheet. It wants to be real tight were when you pull the form hangar shafts out you really have to push hard to lock them back in.

will try I can barely put the hangar shafts back in now I use a rubber mallet to get them the last 1/8 inch in!

Never had to beat mine in with a hammer. Generally it is the second form back toward the back of the press that gives you this problem. If you have a long low quality job on try tightning or loosining while machine is running to see if it gets worse or starts going away.

I did not mean beet in just taping to go that little bit, forms 1 &2 go in fine and tight, I can turn off #3 on a long run and it helps but it comes back after 1000 impressions, the stripes looks good I have even adjusted # 3 to about 1/8 inch still no resolve , thanks for your advice

This usually happens with an oscillating form roller
make sure when forme rollers are night latched that they do not move from side to side, they can be adjusted from the non operating side
as described above with the hex nut do not over do it
