Hi all, I am printing a black over black catalog perfecting on our 102 Heidelberg speedmaster, we have been having a lot of issues with this press in the last few days and all of our pressmen are drawing a blank so any advice would be greatly appreciated. We set up this job to perfect about a week ago and for the first several days (100,000+ impressions) it ran great without many issues other than the odd double sheet or crooked sheet tripping it off. Two days ago the press started dead stopping about every 100-500 sheets, we have checked and rechecked all of our settings from the feeder to the delivery and cant find anything that would make it trip off. the real head scratcher is that when it dead stops it is not throwing any error codes or telling us anywhere on the console why it is stopping. We have had issues with it dead stopping in years past on long catalog runs, however, it has always given us a code for why it stopped. We have checked all of the gates and cylinder covers and all sensors are working properly to the best of our knowledge, and we have crawled underneath the press and cleaned the sensor on the transfer drum for the perfector to no avail. I am hoping that somebody on here has perhaps run into this issue before and might be able to offer some advice on how to solve it. Thank you for your time and i hope we can get this issue resolved quickly!

    Thanks again,
Sincerely, Joseph Mallon, Walker printing Co, Mentor Ohio, USA

    Good day Sir
    I hope you are well.
You must test the Control Relais of Voltage U28-SW, this
control the Voltage SW, the function is control the Limit of 28Vca, between 25 -31.5
if these limit are o.k the Relais connects to contactor D0 that supply the voltage via his contacts.
I strong recommend you, that contact some Electrician, and measure the voltage input in the main
    transforme of the machine.
If the voltages mentiones are OUT of tolerances, and I did indicated, the machine will be Stop. He
can adjust the Tap of transformer for fix it.
See the schematic diagrams for location components + devices
    Let me know any details
    Thank you in advance sincerely
    Blessing

This inconvenience can be eliminated, only if the operator Turn OFF the Switch.
Since the SW storage the Data for this problem.
However the operator can see the Release of FAILURE, when the White Lamp is Off H10.
    Blessing.

Switched my plate from the second unit to the third, the press has tripped off once the same way (dead stop, no error codes), i restarted the press and it is about 2000 sheets into the run of 18000 now, i am talking with our press mechanic and setting up a time to have him come look at it and check out what you said to look for in the main transformer and in the settings on the console, since it seems to be running okay for now i am rolling with it but we are definitely not out of the woods with the problem. Thank you very very much, i will be keeping in contact thruout the troubleshooting process
    Thank you again,
    Sincerely, Joseph Mallon

U28 (voltage monitor) only on pre-CPTronic presses, pre-1989.

Given the fact you are not seeing an error display after the hard stop, and you've checked the "Dynamics Display" for a stored error, (given the assumption on my part that this is a CPTronic or CP2000 press) I would first focus on safety nip bars, maybe not so much the safety circuit as the diagnostic circuit. Do check sensitivity of all safety switches throughout printing units and the delivery.

    ok.
But I remember that i did from 1979 this is
Relais for to protect the electronic system
was develop for heidelberg ,for countries like me Nicaragua, where the fluctuation of voltage
is incredible, we installed, and fix it the problems with this issue.
Has to do with the photocells system, Amplifiers, etc
    You can Try it,

U28 was a standard component on all relay logic machines, Chock. At least that is my assumption, as all presses delivered in US were equipped with such, and all used machines I installed that were resold to US market that I installed and/or serviced.

Thank you all very much for your advice and help, i am sorry that it is taking me so long to get back to each of you. I am trying to juggle keeping the press running and checking the post here on the forum. That being said, i checked and re tentioned all of the blankets after switching which units i am using and so far it has mostly stayed running. we are having an electrician and our local press mechanic come in on monday to check over all that you have told us to look over. unfortunately i am not very good with electrical and am not comfortable looking it over myself. I have printed out everything you have posted here for the mechanic and the electrician to look over on monday in order to speed up the process of getting this issue resolved. Again, Thank you all so much for giving us a place to start with it. this thread has made me very happy that i found this forum and joined.
    Joe.

    Ok Mr Mallon
    Thank you by your words.
We are here for help to anybody.
You will Not find any stored code, since SW has Nothing to do w CPtronic.
The SW, storage for itself some Special C, writing ART for Help the Operator with the Lamp White H1.
Do not worry, any single Electrician can do this Job.
Only see if the fluctuation is Constantly and Out of Tolerance , and he will use the common sense, for to Adapt the Tap of Transformer In the Primary Side, and Ready.
    Thank you in advance.
Have a nice weekend, and let me know any additional Help.
    Blessing

Does the machine trip of in both straight printing and perfecting mode? Also, check to see if the machine will trip off while just running blank sheets no impression on any units.

    Good day sir
    Is old SpeedMaster?
However you must test the power supply feeding to the Cptronic Screen
Tight all connectors, and clean it with electronic Spray.
Use the schematic for the power supply.
Let me know exact what is your SM newer or Older with Cptronic, for to help you
    better
