Anyone have any experience with the Fuji plates that develope on the press as soon as the water form rollers touch it? The only good thing about them is that you dont need a processor or have to pay for the chemicals for it anymore. However, you cant key in the plates before putting them on press because theres no image to see really. Just curious if anyone else has used them yet?

We use them and its working well. I can see the image on the plate. Its a faint image. Its takes a little getting use to in setting the ink keys before putting on the press.

  • have used agfa waterless at times thy are ok but not very resiliant

we use the fuji processless plates Ink is set using sips3 in the repro Plate life is rubbish Fine screens fade within 20,000 mark We also use stocastic screens which i feel dont help

i've been using them for a couple months now.. had a lot of problems at first, mostly with the screens also. Fuji came in and made some adjustments and now it seems pretty good. I dont have any complaints anymore, I start up my press like normal - originally Fuji told me to make sure I got atleast 10 rotations of the water form touching the plate to develope it.

  • This is what I do for the Fuji plates.
Drop the damps and let it run for at 15-20 revolutions. Then I speed the press up and drop the ink forms for the plates to ink up. Been working pretty good.

I recomend the processor from Presstek, for this case. It is very cheap and it run ONLY with water, nothing else. In this way, you can "scan" the plates with your eyes, you dont change your dampening solution every 3 days, and you have a faster start up
