Sir i am new to this site i notice you seem to be very knowledgeable on xerox machines i am a graphic designer currently using an HP Color laser jet 5550 for printing things B/Cards, brochures, etc i have been thinking of getting a better printer. I have been offered a Xerox 7750 and a 7760 i wanted know if there was a big difference between the two such as print quality, cost per page, the 7750 comes with 3 drums and 7 chips while the 7760 is as is the consumables are over 50 per cent i personaly wanted the 7760 being the later model would like you input on this

Hi VisualPrint, just because I have number of these for sale, does not really makes me a User expert. yes a 7760 is newer and a little better printer but you really should look at cost and availability of supplies where ever you are. 7750 does not have chips in toner cartridges while 7760 does, they are about $10 each, everything elese is about the same, 7760 does have a better/faster print controller but they both should print much much better than your HP, there is a reset device for drum chips that exists for both 7750 and 7760, whichever model you go with - get one. One of the most important details that you did not mention - print count for both... If you don't mind buyng a toner chip once in a while - go for 7760 assuming that both printers in similar physical condition, toner itself in identical in both printers so printquality is about the same, cost per print is about the same as well.

X7328 is pretty much the same engine as 7750 / 7760 so expect the same quality and problems, I am sure you are perfectly capable of googling " Xerox 7750 Brochure" and "7328 brochure" look at specs, compare them line to line, they will be pretty much the same. As far as my personal opinion as a Tech+Printer, because it does not have a straight paper path, rather 2 of 90 degree turns it makes it unsuitable to print on cardstocks and I promise, it will come out crooked, off register, forget about matching 2 side printing plus it can automatically duplex like 200 gsm max, I think.
On a good side, when well maintained, it should print beautiful color on text weight, X7328 should print a little better than 7750 but same as 7760.
In my print shop I always had a OKI C9800 / CX3641 style printers to print on cardstocks and Phaser 7750/7760 to print text weights.
Oh, and both of these will have a unsolvable issue - if printed dense colors, exit rollers put some kind of impression lines especially on glossy media , they will always be there and there is no workaround. I switched to Konica Minolta Bizhub C65HC (Similar to Bizhub C6501P) just as I could. We still use OKIs a little bit because they are good with envelopes. Newer Xerox Boxes are slightly better - Phaser 7500 / 7800 you may want to look in to those. In any case, take a nice, color-juicy file 12x18 in size, test print it on glossy media, make sure it does what you need in quality that you can sell.
    Good luck.

But from your opinion as a Tech+Printer whats your take on this it been priced slightly higher than the previous is it worth it or not does it also have the cardstock registration & dense color issue
    Thanks

Well, This is a copier version of Phaser 7500 / 7800. If you're not planning to actually make copies - you will be overpaying for all that scan/copy hardware.
These are better machines than 7760 but have their weaknesses... Due to tiny Developer unit they may suffer laying large solids and once again, because of 2 90 degree turns in paper path running heavy card will be challenging. In my experience 12x18 printed 2 sides, looked at the light trought the page looks like an "X" as there is a 2mm slew on each side. On positive side - these machines utilize LED arrays rather than Laser unit to draw image on to drums - less moving pars - more reliable. Any chance you can afford something like Xerox Docucolor 242?

Hi, most likely they are the same, it could be just different market designation, 7328/35/45 were sold here in North America, 7245 could be the same unit sold in Europe or Asia. Engine looks the same, phaser 7760 style.
