Xerox 700 upgrade to 700i Problem

Dear all ,

i upgrade my xerox 700 to 700i

while printing on paper 300gm with black background , i get a problem
that the paper get out and some black colour are not in the paper
like its scratched , this is like if i make a print on a paper 200gm , and the set of the try are 80gm , so the fuser setting are install to print on 80gm not 200 gm

anyway , before this upgrade to 700i , the printing on paper 300gm with black background was 100% good

- please i make attached of a scan for printing the paper 300gm , please check it also

It looks like it is set as uncoated paper and you are printing coated.

From what I understand, there is a temperature difference and uncoated is at a temp that won't allow it to adhere well to coated stock.

 

i used the same material of paper 300gm coated or uncoated all before the software upgrade , all printing are OK
but after i made the update to xerox 700i , i get this problem .

i think that while make the upgrade there is a value in NVM for the temperature for the paper 300gm maybe reset or get a wrong value !! maybe

I dont want to steal this thread, but how did you upgrade? Is there any place to get the firmware?

 

i made the upgrade , and i solved all the problem i this upgrade now all working good
for the upgrade you will need a software tools to connect the xerox 700 to your notebook or the laptop
and the software package that will upgrade the machine software from 3.0 to 3.7 from xerox 700 to xerox700i

Firmware alone doesn't upgrade you to a 700i, once you put the firmware on it will display 700/ 700i but the fiery has to be upgraded too.
there is NO physical difference between the 700 and the 700i, they are the same machine.

Hi everyone, i had the same problem here with my machine after changing a bustled fiery to a fiery ex700.. now i can't duplex 300gsm with my oversized capacity feeder ( i can but telling the machine is not 300gsm - only 220 ), that way the heat is not enough to fuse the toner and i'm getting the same results as @ICS mentioned before.
no idea how to fix this.

any NVM voodoo number to fix this? or any other solution? my xerox technician doesn't know what to do... also do you know where i can get the service manual for this machine?? there is a lot to learn and not much information out there...
