I had a Xerox technician in to fix a jam on my finisher. He can't figure out what the problem is. It's jamming in the first section of the finisher. I printed a few single copies out without a jam and then when I tried printing 500 it jammed on the 1st copy. Any ideas?

Is there a grinding sound as it jams?

The gears in the back work away from each other and stop making contact. Open the small panel on the upper right on the back of the finisher and watch it as feeds paper . If its not the gears its the silver part (the clutch) looks like half a size "C" battery.

I took the panel off and watched as it jammed. There are a 6 gears there. Can't really tell if it's the gears. Any suggestions?

The gears all seem to be moving together. One of the top ones is moving a little slower though.

    Fixed! The clutch was slipping.
