We have a Xante En/Press that has severe feeding issues. We use the envelope feeder that takes the place of the bypass tray and holds about 500-750 envelopes. The problem is the envelopes keep bunching up just before the blue feeder roller. Every time this blue roller snaps up, the feeder belts advance unnecessarily. Our service tech has replaced the whole side door upon talking to Xante. Xante told him they had made some upgrades to the whole side door area. Initially it feed great. But after the first 5000 envelopes it now only feeds about 10 envelopes before the envelopes bunch up. Does anyone know of a way to prevent this from happening??? I have tried to locate the sensor for the feed belts to see if it is dusty. The only thing I can see is this clear plastic Mylar thing that sticks to the top of the blue feed roller. This is only about a week old. I am about ready to pull my hair out! I would be thankful for any suggestions!

I can say you’re not the only battling with Xantes questionable feeding system. It’s arguably the machine’s biggest down fall.

make sure all the rollers are free of dust. The habitually attract everything that exists in the air and on the substrate. Make sure the envelope path is at a sweet spot of loose/snug. Make sure the envelope supply is kept full, but not too full.

if you have time, send a picture of the feeder. Xante has implemented several variations.

We have the enterprise feeders on our impressias. I have experienced bunching and drives me crazy, always seems to do it when you look away for a minute. What I have found almost every time is that the side guides were set just a bit too tight and the envelopes are not all perfect sized, so you get randomly misfolded envelopes that are a tiny bit larger than what you have set the feeder for that seem to stall and cause a backup. Problem is if you have the guides set to loose, the envelopes can pull in crooked and print out of square. The feeder seems like a good idea, but because not all envelopes are exactly the same, it causes problems.

But we have the same problem, it will run all day and then start bunching up, almost every time it is solved by giving the envelopes just a tiny bit more side to side space when approaching the feed wheels.

Hope this helps.... best of luck

Hi. Can you post a pic of your feeder and your printer's by-pass entrance? When envelopes bunching up, snap a pic and post it here please.
1 view is worth 1000 words. I have successfully troubleshooted and improved OKI/IntoPrint feeding hiccups but not sure what kind of feeder with blue roller you have.
Also, somehow most of posters asking a question just ignore to post print count of the printer. I mean don't you think it is important and can be different issues if your printer has 100,000 impressions or 1,000,000 impressions... I mean, it just makes sense - if you ask someone for advice, to provide as much as possible information...

Make sure rollers are free of dust, not worn out and not dried out. if friction is utilized to feed, rollers need to have thread and be elastic, should not be covered in dust, should not be worn, should not be dry from time.
