We have a 1999 Wohlenberg 115 Cut Tec that the clamp will go down manually and with the cut paddles when activated, buy wont return to the UP position for about 1 minute. Checked and bled the hydraulic system but still the same issue. Wondering if the valves on the hydraulic were messed with or maybe one is faulty. Is there a way to check them or a procedure for setting them. The book doesnt included any info on this area. Any help would be appreciated

Hi, did you solve the problem? I have the same issue

  • Hi sir:
    Happy New year.

    1) You must sure the Hydraulic system, has NOT leakage very well!!!!!
1a) measure the voltage very well in solenoid Valve, if there are voltage, or solenoid defective!!, replace or repair.
    2) replace the Hydraulic oil, is the best solution, after you did check, that is NOT leakage!!!
    3) the Cam disk in the rear of Guillotine, you must Readjust very well, look, for loose wires, limit switch or sensors, dirty or faulty, or plastic cam, Need adjustment, by fault and error, iF you do not have any service information.

    Let me know, sincerely

    Blessing.

Thank You for your reply Chock
I have confirmed everything you noted and after taking all valves out for cleaning it seems to move up faster then before but still a slower rate
What is the proper way of air bleeding this system? Checked the return spring for damage and is in perfect condition and measured it at 765mm as the service manual requires also corrected grease fitting problem. Also you mentioned the cams may need adjustment.. I thought those controlled the knife cycle. If so which cam or switch are you referring to so I can confirm proper function?

    Hi Sir:

Attached is there block diagram, for help you in the problem.

    Blessing.

I have a slightly different problem, when I use only the foot pedal, the clamp returns slowly (maybe 30 seconds). when I start the cutting process without foot pedal it goes back normal. I suspect one of the hydraulic valves, or whatever it's called, that is, most likely the one that has a button on it that is pressed by the foot pedal

I believe you are correct. That valve is made just for Wohlenberg as I checked with the original manufacture in Germany. Make sure the button goes completely down when depressed and returns to the top. Adjustments are 1mm clearance from bolt to the valve button when idle

This is for a Protec. The machine they are needing help on is a Cuttec. Completely different. The information you are giving on other threads is concerning. Im not sure you know everything you speak of.

First and formost, check grease on the clamp gibs. Dry or thick grease will cause a slow rise of your clamp. Second, check the hydraulic piston that pushes on your clamp roller. You will see it meet up with the clamp cam piston. If during clamp return, there is light between these 2, you will need more spring tension. If the clamp piston is beating the clamp bar in return speed, the problem is all mechanical. Not electrical or hydraulic.
