What Paint Substrate for UV

Hello Everyone,

I'm working on making some faceplates for musical instrument amps. The plates are 20ga metal and UV printing really gets the detail I'm looking for. After some frustrating experiences with a powder coater I'm rethinking my approach to the project.

My UV printing vendor uses a Mimaki UJF-6042 MKII.

There is a high quality bike-frame painter on my street and I was thinking of having them spray the next run of painted plates.

My question is: what kind of paint do I want for maximum adhesion? The bike frame place sprays wet paint. Is there a particular finish or texture I should ask for? There are some pretty fine details in the design.
