Incredibly sensitive water pan level sensors in this gremlin crowded press. Been idle for god knows how long! Have cleaned the prongs but still doesn't like the water level even though its right on the overflow height of the plug. Apparently they replaced the first deck motor a while back which figures.

Do these sensors need calibrating or just replacing???

    Hi sir
check if the probes are clogged, the wires twisted or cut, or replace the sensor if necessary

Them 2 prong sensors are not meant to control water level as much as they are as a warning when the level drops down too low. What's most important is that you maintain a consistent level by balancing the feed of the fountain solution into the water pan against the pans return. I like to set the feed up to supply the pan with the quickest flow that will safely drain without overflowing the pan. By doing this you will have the best temperature control in the pan and also the freshest solution. If your water pan begins to overflow it's usually an indication that you need to flush out all of your return plumbing as opposed to reducing the feed of solution. Regular flushes of the water supply system will keep things flowing at maximum efficiency.
