Hi, we have a 5-color press manroland 205 with automated cloth-type blanket washing system. The rolls of cloths come saturated with the cleaning liquid. Problem is, that this original solution is unbelievable expensive. We now found another solution (dry roll and separated plastic bag with the liquid - each roll one bag) which cuts the expenses to half but there is still one solution which costs 10% but we can't manage to find it. The problem is that we are not able to find any supplier of the cleaning liquid in bigger amount than the small expensive plastic bags. Please does anyone know if we could try liquids from other manufacturers than from manroland? Or would we risk some serious damage to the press?

    Thanks for your help.

The pre-soak wash-up cloth you used is from Baldwin. They are really expensive. Fortunately for us we have found a way over this. We buy conventional dry cloth from Dupont in jumbo rolls. We rewind in house and soak with a proven solvent from Varn Natural Wash. We have tried many solvents but is either dry too fast, too slow or the roll dries before half way through the roll.

It's easy. However, the trick is that you need to dip the entire cloth roll vertically (standing position) for a few hours. Drip dry for about 30 minutes. You can store it in a plactic bag and retrieve when require.

    Hope you can save $$$:)
