w8400 won't print

Hi anyone any ideas we have a canon w8400 and have just replaced the printhead. we went through the proceedure according to the instructions came with the printhead (this involved updating the firmware). The printer now won't print it goes through all the stages as if it is printing but no ink appears on paper -

is there ink in the lines?
if not pump ink through, also if there is ink there, i had on my 6200 move printhead to centre and take it out, then put it back. worked fine after that
