Using a color rip software to control individual channels of a printer?

Hello there, I have an Espon Stylus Pro 9700. My problem is that one of the channels of the black color is completely clogged and beyond recovery(circled in red). Is it possible to use only the other channel for printing by using a RIP software?


I would appreciate any help in this regard.

My guess is that it would be easier to replace the head than customize the rip software to do bypass the bad channels.
