Upgrading Xerox Phaser 7760 to 1GB ram

Hello all, anyone know if it is possible to add a common so-dimm 512MB memory module to a Phaser 7760 or there is any kind of smart protection in the memory part xerox selling so expensive?
I tried to use a so-dimm but printer gives a Ram Error message.

Hi, something makes me think that if you would take that dimm out of the same Xerox printer, there should not be any problems...
