Trouble running 4 Mil Polypropylene label stock, HELP!!!!

Is there anybody that has print on 4 Mil Polypropylene label stock? at first I was ok. running this stock, but today I'm trying again and is jamming in the fuser area by the 4 finger. I remove them and replace some of them, but still can't get trough,any advised or suggestions (by the way I'm running 14 x20 sheet size)

I have. You will often have to clean the fingers right above the transfer wires...before you go onto others...

IS it sticking to the fuser? OR, is a corner getting caught on the metal directly after the fuser? I have had both happen.

have you tried lowering the temperature (setting paper to lower thickness)? When I had that trouble, it was from excessive curl, falling into the guide. I actually made an extension out of card paper and taped it to the guide LOL allows the curl extra surface to hit, so it didnt roll up under the guide.

Had that trouble with a really thick card stock too.

I'll lower the stock to lower weight, but how do you make that extension, what size and where exactly do you tape it, and what kid of cardstock do you use. I had tried the extension, but I get a print fault

tiny little piece of 12 pt cover. about 3 inches by 1 inch. and some masking tape...ill try and get you a pic soon. its not very high tech

could be that the vinyl is sticking to the fuse when it gets hot as well?

here, with pic of a normal one beside it... see, super low tech LOL but worked. It would fold corners on the really thick stuff it was curly.

YOurs might be jamming before the fuser....so Not sure it will help, but worth a shot..

note, that little "mod" has been in there since september, and hasnt fallen out

I have used the method described by Peels and it works. About a year ago we were helping another printer out and the stock they provided had excessive curl and it would shoot above "pre-fuser" sensor.

yeah, they only test "approved" stocks... In the real world, you print what the customer wants, no time for approval.

If you need any "shadetree" modifications for the Nexpress machines....I have tons of those too...
