Triumph 4850 - Clamp Issue

Hi everyone...we just purchased a used Triumph 4850 which we absolutely love however, it just recently started to have a problem with the clamp that comes down prior to the blade. It first started to come down very slowly and now it seems to be moving at a snails pace. It still seems to function but its EXTREMELY slow. Does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone else had this problem? When we loaded it for travel, we tilted it on its side momentarily and some oils spilled over so wondering if this might be partly to blame. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
