It looks there is some problem with the control circuit supply.. observe the control voltage... P24A - N24No the problem is electronic, the counter stops for 2 or 3 sheets and speed indicator jumps around and even shows blank the back to the speed the press is going, The mechanical part is fine. At the same time the Varicam in the control panel at feeder goes blank for a second or two then back to normal.
I'm trying to see where the degree wheel is so I can see if the pickup for the position of the press is not the problem
Thanks
Automotive tool companies make degree wheels in various diameters. If you having a problem with your electronics you could always slap on an automotive degree wheel and pointer for a few bucks to verify timing events.

This is normally caused by the Varicam or the absocoder failing. If the Varicam display goes blank, replace it. If the absocoder is hard to turn, replace it. My money is on the Varicam, they are a high failure item.A 1998 L-428, electronic counter I think the press has a Varicam that controls the speed indicator and the counter whenever the speed goes out for a few seconds the counter stops for 2 or 3 and then back to normal for 50 to 200 and then the speed goes crazy for a few more seconds then back to normal. This just started maybe 3 or 4 days ago.

it looks like the varicam has the problemWhat and where is the absocoder?
The vericam display does go blank for a couple of seconds and then returns to normal, whenever it goes blank the speed and counter mess up.

What I was trying to convey to you was that if you suspect the electronic onboard degree sensor was defective you could verify its accuracy with an automotive degree wheel. Various timing events could be verified by comparing your electronic degree reading to a mechanical wheel. The mechanical degree wheel will never lie to you or be inaccurate.I guess I thought that the press already has one on it and I wanted to locate it and make sure it or the sensor for the timing is not the problem, like a piece of trash or something like that.
But thank you for that information.
