While starting with a long run job, we just realised the sheets gotta go for hot foil stamping next. But this particular job also has a flood aqueous coat.
What should we do, rerun aqueous after hot foil stamping or run aqueous right away? In short, can aqueous coated sheets be hot foiled later?

    Dear Mr,
For me I prefer to make hot stamp first.
But this may cost two passes on the printing machine.
But, if it is a long run job, you can ask your hot foils provider for a type than can be done over the aqueous, especially because I saw a printing shop did this over an aqueous UV.
    Good luck.

Thanks. Will check with the foil stamping guy. Will be really a life saver if we can avoid 2 passes.

If you do apply your aqueous coating inline while printing, and foil stamp OVER the coating it would be advised to talk to your coating supplier about using a coating product that will allow foil stamping over it. Chances are it will require a coating thats at the very least wax free, but also resistant to the heat required in some foil stamping applications. If you talk to your foil stamper chances are he will discourage foil stamping over coating as it may make for a little more work, or skill on his part. Bottom line is that it CAN be done with the right aqueous coating, but many foil stampers will discourage it.
