There a couple ways to do that.Cheapest is to use blanket and cut on the place where you don't need uv varnish in jobs where you don't need perfect fitting and are not tpo problematic for placing spot coating.Sometimes we use polymers of parts that has to be coated and we glue them on the blanket of varnishing machine so uv varnish is applied throughout polymers only on places the spot coating has to be.The most expensive (and best quality) way is with plates for uv varnishing .

We use polymers from Flint NYLOPRINT WF80H,we have separate machine for UV varnishing and results are very good, and when we need perfect register we use plates.

You can cut them by hand or on plotter if you had one.At the moment we us e plates from Nessmann STRIP PLATE® POLY we cut them by hand and they are very, very good and cheaper. Here is their web page and instruction it is easy to use them and they last very long no problems they fit on almost any sheetfeed machine. http://www.strip-plate.com/internet_uk/start.htm

    Hello Qazi
well.. if you are in karachi. then digital process, in korangi industrial area can help you. we are also using single color roland for UV, and we tried this UV plate, but the gloss result was on the low side,
if you can afford. you can get best spot uv result with silk screen/screen printing.

I always create a seperate file for my varnish plates. I select a spot color that is NOT used in the document, and make everything I want with a varnish on it that color. then delete everything I don't want. I normally use an orange color for gloss varnish, and a purple color for dull varnish (personal preference).

Make a flexo plate from digital process or somewhere else. I guess. there is one at pakistan chowk, i dont remember the name.. then you place that flexo plate on your roland machine.. then try.. you can do spot UV. but the result will be lesser than screen printing spot UV.

if you still need help, cal me at 0333-2358831, i will try my best.

Wow, it is my 1st time to know that we can use offset printing machine to do spot UV.

We mostly do spot UV via silk-screen printing.
