SORMZ Heidelber machine's dampening motor fault

Dear Sir
I have SORMZ 2 color Heidelberg machine that has the problem with the dampening motor that stops running as it goes on impression otherwise manually it runs smoothly,

Troubleshooting is important. With the press still idling, what happens when you turn on the water ductor and pull the lever for that unit to manually engage the dampener (forms to plate), does the pan motor continue to turn?

Manually it works at low and high speed but on impression during production it stops. I swap this motor to other unit it works and also swap the electronics card that are also working good, from the pannel to check the cable I swaped the wires they are also good. Y removing the motor from the roller it still stops working, may be there is elec trical fault at contactor or relay side hence I do not have the electrical drawing for this machine.

    Dear sir
I have Heidelberg sormz and my damping rollers is not coming on
I asked electrical person to check the
Card, circuit board 91 981333/02 one is faulty, we replaced with another one it started working
Electrical person told me to check
The damper motor to do service
    Pls suggestions

Alcolor or conventional? Either way, you have brushes that require inspection and lube in gearbox. We normally used mixture of cutter hydraulic fluid and STP.

Gear box of the motor itself. Fuses may fail if the brushes are too low causing high resistance, or possibly gear box failure or something in the dampening mechanism that is causing the motor to work too hard. If motor seems fine, demount from press and see if there is failure in the machine by rotating the shaft the motor drives. That’s the best way I can put it.

  • Also, I’ve seen the seal between the motor and gearbox fail allowing lubricant to wick up into the windings, causing an electrical short circuit.

Ok sir , my electrician checked the dampening motor brushes, they seem to be fine
Will ask him to re check everything again
    Thanks
