HELLO,i'd really appreciate your help .To set parameters and parameter values.
I need software for the Power Converter BKF12 of main drivE ,
Software version S0420.EXE and above:
S04xx_D [BW] [COM2] if you are using the German version
S04xx_E [BW] [COM2] if you are using the English version

thanks! Email: ldh_jm@outlook.com

Parameter disk main drive. (HA parameter)... From the set of diskettes of the machine. Use the Parafin program.

If you don't have Paraffin, here it is.

  • S04xx_E ,According to the instructions, it's more powerful.
There is no way an English translation would be more powerful on a German machine.

Help me,The laptop is unable to communicate with the drive bum617. What is the reason?
    Thank you

Hello everyone, I'm working on a Baumuller BKF12 drive from a Roland 700, and it was sent to me for diagnosis. I've already backed up the parameters from the keyboard, one by one. But I'd like to know what the Parafin software that was posted is for. I've already connected it to the PC using the serial cable, but I only see the "Display" and "LogFile" interfaces. What are they supposed to do?

I hope you can advise me.

The PARAFIN program is used for parameterizing inverters and recording parameters. PARAFIN - Programm for setting parameters
The programm should be installed on a hard disk. While it is possible,
to start it from a floppy disk, access and transfer speeds cause very long
    waiting times.
For installations, use the program INSTALL.EXE. If generates all the
necessary directories and copies the files. For the required configuration
data, standard values may be used. The programm itself is copied into the
directory ..\PARAFIN. The installation programm generates the
initialization file PARAFIN.INI with the configuration data.
Please to not use the PARAFIN.INI from a previous version.
The file PARADOKU.DOC (Winword format) contains an accurate discription
of the program. There is also a comprehensive online help.
The programm is started by simply entering >PARAFIN<.

Paraffin is not a Baumuller program. Paraffin can only load parameters written by Roland. Baumuller service software is used for repairs. If this is your first inverter you repair, be prepared for a long struggle. You need an electric motor for testing. At least.

Yes, the software I need is Baumuller's, do you have it?

But why do you need the parameters if You allready have them? Are you exchanging the drive ? What is the actual problem on the drive ?

Hello, the problem is intermittent; the error is 24 in the Baumuller drive, "Min field current out of lower range." The fault occurs rarely. The motor has already been checked and is OK. For now, the drive is already in the machine, but I'm looking for alternatives, such as changing the field control board, switching to an external field power supply and modifying the parameters, or even changing the drive for a different brand, and I need to verify the RS485 communication protocol between Roland and the Baumuller drive.

Change the drive with the exact drive and keep only the CPU board that contains the parameters. If the machine was developed to run with that type of motor and that particular set of parameters I won't change it.

But if it just a field problem you might have problem with the control of rectifier or only the reading of the current.

Measure the current and the voltage at a certain speed. Then measure them again at the same speed when the error occurs.
Check if the error is real or false. If the current is really lower or is just an internal measurement problem.
The measurement can have errors from a faulty voltage regulator ( like +/- 15 V) or so... Or some current transformers faculty.
Check also if the problem is related to the temperature in the drive. Some parts can vary parameters when it gets cold or warmer.

Problems with the stator current are due to poor contact, usually in the motor housing or a failure in the inverter (less often).
Most often it is a failure in the motor itself. The winding breaks randomly at a certain moment. On the motor itself, the cooling channels inside it must be cleaned. If it has not been cleaned for 15-20 years. this problem appears. The stator must be rewound.

  • In my experience, error 24 was resolved by replacing the excitation winding relay.
In the past, I have had to replace the hall sensor on brands like Control Techniques "Mentor II". Right now, they are very urgently trying to get the machine producing despite the intermittent fault. I've already got a replacement board to test, and I'll let you know how it goes.
