SM74 continuous beep on initialization

Hi guys, first post here, thank you for accepting me.

Long story short, I have an SM74 2p that had the main motor replaced (permanent magnets dislodged and broke inside the motor), by a new motor from HD.
The new motor worked fine in inch and crawl modes, but as soon as I started the normal speed it would make about one turn and stop.
Errors at that time where:
DYN test:
S-EWKE 1 FFFE (as soon as I started the machine, I think unrelated to this issue)
S-HWI FFEF or FEEF
S-MOT FF7F
INIT
S_EWKE1 M2 FFFC (unrelated, I think)
All errors pointed to the main motor's encoder. At that point, HD said it would send a new encoder, but that we should try a init/reset, so we did. pins 9-10 and 11-12 of the X3.
The machine never started again!
When started with the shunt pins inserted for the initialization, after about 15s it starts beeping continuesly (at the feeder's MID display), top red LED on the ZSK2 blinking. Then, after about another 15-20s it stops beeping, the bottom red and green LEDs of the ZSK2 light up, as well as the HALT LED on the ZRM board!
the MID display on the feeder passes the HD logo and now shows _____12 0 , but the ZID display at the delivery never goes past the HD logo.
I have checked the supply voltages, that seems to be within tollerance (5.07V and 24.05V), I´ve switched the supply cards NTM1 FOR NTM2, and also switched EWKE1 with EWKE2.
I´ve tried disconnecting one flat cable from the ZSK2 at a time and start the machine, but it allways beeps continuesly after those 15-20 seconds.

Any idea woould be helpfull, what's the next logical step? I suspect a fault on the ZSK2 or even the ZRM, but I don't have another board to replace. At the shop we have another SM74 but it's older with a ZSK only.
TIA

  • Is the machine now running or not , the machine beeps continuesly when it s running ??
If you can send a video i will understand very well

No, machine is not running because it does not initialize, it is stuck at the Heidelberg logo. It beeps when turned on with the reset jumpers inserted and doesn't initialize. If turned on without the jumpers it doesn't beep but also doesn't go past the Heidelberg logo on the cptronic display.

This is not sm74 machine normally must be pm 74 , did you excately the peocedur to initialize ??

SOLVED. Aparently this machine is initialized with only one shunt, pins 11-12 of the X11! I could have sworn I've done it more than once with both shunts, 11-12 and 9-10!
Also strange is the fact that this machine is listed at HB database has having a ZSK, not a ZSK2. Tried to get a quote for the ZSK2 and ZRM using the machine's s/n but was told it was the wrong parts for this machine. Only after sending pics of the boards did they gave me a quote. Luckily we won't be needing those.

Still can't find any info about the continuous beep on initialization, lol

    Thanks anyway

  • That's why I asked you, did you follow the Shubt procedure correctly? Because you mentioned the X3 connector at the beginning. The beep, I think, is for lubrication. Didn't you notice that after the initialization, buttons were added? Lubrication of the receiver, by any chance?

My bad, I meant X11 but wrote X3, which is the power supply plug.
I did the shunt procedure first by shunting pins 9 to 10 and 11 to 12, has I though I've done a few times... But that particular machine only requires pins 11 to 12 to be shunted. It worked right away when I did that.
No new buttons were added after initialization.
    Thanks
