    Hi Guys

    We have a problem with or SM 52-2 ( 2010 model )

Ink form rollers 12 & 1 have stopped dropping on plate & roller 4 is not making contact.
A local engineer has got them working by altering the piping on the air valves.

He thinks our problem is electrical but is unsure of a fix.

    any ideas?

Is it happening on both units or just in one unit? Check your roller sizes, pneumatic cylinder and solenoid valve.

    Both units.
    rollers ok some slight shrinkage.
solenoids & cylinders work ok when pressed manually but don't think certain ones are getting a signal to operate.
as I say done a by pass job with pneumatics at the moment to get them to work.
this is why we think its electrical.

    Sm52 roller issues..

IS THE PRESS ANICOLOR SYSTEM? THE SM52 USES SPECIAL VALVES/PISTONS THAT WORK IN MULTI-STAGES..THESE CAN BE SEEN ON THE PNEUMATICS DIAGRAMS/FUNCTION PAGE(I HAVE ATTACHED PDF COPIES)..THEY MAY BE GETTING THE SIGNAL BUT NOT OPERATING AS THEY SHOULD..HAVE YOU TRIED TO SWAP VALVES etc BETWEEN UNITS TO ISOLATE THE FAULTY COMPONENTS? THANKS...

    Hi Mrfixit,

    Thanks for the reply.

    Our press is Anicolor system.
As stated our engineer has bypassed valves to get system to work. There are very few of these presses here in Qatar they tend run GTO's so what engineers there are not really up to speed.
The only option with a Heidelberg engineer is to bring one in from Dubai at great cost.
But I think with the drawings you've provide our guy can sort the problem.

Thanks for your help and I will keep you posted.
