SM52 Problem I can't pinpoint

Hey guys,

Looking to pick your brains about something. Lately we have had a problem pop up on our 1998 SM52...When you turn the handle to give the press power, the venturi air, and delivery air come on right away. Normally those kick on once going on impression, but this is immediately upon power.

Also, I think correlating is that the dryer does not come on, when on impression. These things started happening I believe at the same time, so while totally different areas of the press, they do seem to be related.

I have no warnings at all in CPC, and opening INIT Test has nothing there either. I am stumped, and not entirely sure what to be looking for. Any ideas?

Most likely culprit: The impression detection switch or its wiring. When that signal is lost or inverted, you get exactly this behavior — systems that should trigger on impression either fire immediately or not at all.

Try manually cycling the impression lever while watching CPC to see if it registers the state change.

If your machine is modular (high pile), swap between EAK12 and EAK15 for test.
If compact, swap between EWK1 and EWK2.
