SM52 2 col damping problem

Hi Guys
We have a issue on our second unit.
Cannot get a setting damper to plate on operators side have checked and re-checked settings all seems ok.
Have tried the very lightest settings with intermediate roller and still no good.
If we remove the intermediate roller and then try it touches plate.
Could it be a air pressure problem or is it mechanical.

Won't be air pressure as your machine will come up with a low pressure fault. May be the o/s piston faulty - can your hear air leaking? If not the dampening journal maybe tight on the pivot due to corrosion. There is also a threaded spindle which connects the 2 journals so they come on and of together. This can sometimes lose its settings or pre installed measurements if so it needs to come out and be reset then reinstalled.
Replacing the piston and the spindle settings would best be done by a tech as there is a fair amount of work

 

I agree with contractor where the dampning journal is frozen on the pivot point. This is fairly common on SM52.

Cannot hear any air leak but will remove side cover & double check.
Will remove rollers & check journal.
