    Hello Everyone,

I would ask for any help I can regarding the problem due to which I have not slept for two weeks :(

    The story is as follows:

About a year ago, the main engine on the machine burned out. We replaced the engine by an authorized service technician. After it was replaced we noticed that certain functions on the machine do not work, such as, automatic washing of rollers and positioning the plate crosswise (as can be seen in photo no.1, these fields were deleted on the cpc monitor at 3, 4 and 5 stations).
Regarding this problem, we called a local technician who found that it was possible that the problem was in the SSK2 control panel which was slightly burnt (photo no.2).
We have been working with the machine in this condition for about a year now by washing the rollers and positioning the plates crosswise by hand.

Two weeks ago I decided to address this problem, I received information that the SSK2 board could be repaired if there was no major malfunction and found a couple of electricians in the ads, one of whom decided to come and look at the SSK2 board. After the inspection, it turned out that both plates no longer work, that is, when the machine turns on, the lamps on both plates do not flash at all. I guess the electrician didn’t know what he was doing and tested and turned on and changed places with the plates while the machine was on.
I realized that I had learned a lesson that would cost me dearly :(

I managed to find and buy an identical SSK2 board, it only had a second EPROM, so I set the EPROM 026 from the old board to the new one (photo no. 3, part with a yellow sticker). Now when I turn on the machine the light on the new board starts flashing while on the other SSK2 board it does not flash, (photo no. 4 and 5 is INIT-TEST).

Is the solution to find another SSK2 board and replace it with this one that doesn't flicker or could be repaired?
Do the deleted fields on the CPC at stations 3, 4 and 5 for plate cross-positioning and automatic washing have anything to do with the SSK2 card?

    Please help ... 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg init test1.jpg init test2.jpg

    Hi Alen,
As I can see, only one SSK is recognised by the machine and it is SSK-1. Which board is inserted on "SLOT 1"? Is it the new one or it's the old one?

    Hi Mathew,

I don't know exactly whether the slot number is 1 or 2. The new card is on the left, as can be seen in the photo.

tx Mathew, it's good to know.

Is it possible that the deleted fields on stations 3, 4 and 5 on the cpc monitor have nothing to do with the SSK card, is there a possibility that they were accidentally deactivated on the cpc and can be turned on again?
I tried to browse the settings and could not find the place where the activation takes place.

Yes, it is possible. The deleted icons are servo drives controlled by SSK2. I need to know if both LEDs are blinking. And then you have to check if all servo drives are recognised. To do that, push Service button and select Service 2, on the row from left, press second button "configuration" and find SSK1 and SSK2 take a photo. If both SSKs are recognised, you will see SSK1 and SSK2 configuration, otherwise you may see only SSK1.

    Good luck

    Tx Mathew,

Ok I'll try, but only one SSK card is currently working, in slot 1 which flashes. will it mean anything if I do the mentioned procedure with one correct card?

If SSK1 LED is blinking, it means the other one is not recognised. Next step, insert them one by one in SLOT 1 and let's see if both are running.

OK, when i insert a faulty SSK card (the one that does not flash) in SLOT1, the images from the attachment are displayed on the CPC monitor.

Tomorrow I will send photos of the service menu with the correct SSK card in SLOT1.

Does this mean that if I insert an correct SSK card (the one that flashes) in SLOT2 that deleted icons should appear?

Thanks a lot for the support!

    Execute this easy troubleshooting for electronic circuit;

    1) Perform a visual inspection : look for loose and broken wires, improperly seated connectors, loose or broken wires
misset switch, missing jumpers. and so on.

    Check for obviously damaged component(components burned or discolore due to overheating);
    Dust + dirt + tear +wear

    2) Reseating Boards and components:
Edge connectors are a common souorce of problems. Power down the system and remove the PC boards. Examine the edge connector
for contamination and clean with contacts cleaner contacts. Reseat any loose components such as scoketed ICs) .
    Reseat theboards and power up.

    3) Power supply checks:
Check the power supply for missing voltages and voltages out of spec. A digital multimieter DMM can be necessary, as
voltage specifications are quite tight: logic supplies for example: must be within + o.7% percent of 5Vdc. All the
multiple supplies and all must be checked.

    4) Board swapping:
Board swapping involves the substitutiono of a known godd board for a suspect one

    5) look for colder+dry solder joint in the electronic board!!!!!

S-SAK error message in INIT test refers to low battery on SAK module. You have to replace the battery as soon as possible. If your machine has Full Automatic Sheet Reversing you will get a serious problem.
But if SSK is not recognised then there will not be any error message in INIT and DYN test.

    Good luck,

The photos show the service mode with one card in SLOT1.
The machine is stright, without a perfector.
An interesting note regarding the battery on the SAK module....is there a possibility in case the battery on the SAK card is not correct that it will not recognize the other SSK card?

is there a strong possibility, if the battery is Not the same, will happen the SAK , will not recognize other SSK card, and you can lost the Data too.

If you do the steps that i did indicated before?

    Hi Alen,
It's quit confusing, are you sure that you inserted SSK in SLOT1? It shows SSK02 and the motors are also belonged to SSK02 and this can't be right. While SSK is sit on SLOT1 you should be able to see Pressure, Diagonal adjustments of Unit 1 and 2 , Side lay format, Margin control and... in general the first part of the machine from Feeder side.
I'm assuming that variant codes are changed due to battery drainage on SAK. Send photo from following menus:
1- Variant codes, Service 1 + button with "KEY" symbol.
2- SSK1 and SSK2 software versions, Service 2 + 1st button from left, then scroll the menu by (+) till find both SSKs. (both SSKs should be inside).
3- SSK 1 and 2 Configuration menu while both SSKs are inside.
4- SSK Configuration menu while SSK is in SLOT1
5- SSK Configuration menu while SSK is in SLOT2
6- SSK1 and SSK2 actual values while both are inside and one by one on SLOT1.

I know it's too much but I'm trying to minimize the possibilities. Send your email address then I will send you some instructions.

    Good luck,

    Thanks a lot Mathew,

I also noticed that the monitor is marked SSK02 even if the SSK module is inserted in SLOT1 (SLOT on the left), strange..

The faulty SSK module is currently being tested by an electrician, although I do not have high hopes.

I will send menu photos from both cards as soon as I get the card back, in the meantime I will send photos of the menu with suggestions with one card.
Nothing is too much for me, I am glad that there are people who want to help. Regards,
    Alen

    Thanks for the tips CHOCK,

I did a visual inspection and other checks as far as I understand and I did not find anything unusual, I still checking the connectors and wires as well as cleaning from dust, the only thing I have no knowledge is for power supply check, the last time it was done by an electrician the machine stopped works :):(
