Hi guys! I would like to ask which is better between the two machines? Many knows that Anicolor is better than Standard SM 52 when it comes on fast job change or fast make ready times. Aside from this what else an Anicolor can do? Also, how about inks and chems of anicolor, is it much expensive or cheaper? When it comes in the maintenance of the two machines from inking rollers and other needs to have a monthly, quarterly, semi annual maintenance. Which is cheaper? Does the Anicolor needs an expert maintenance tech from Heidelberg or not? Does the Anicolor needs a air-conditioned pressroom? Please do reply, I need suggestion/s which is I'm going to purchase. thanks.

I looked at the Anicolor 4 colour press - Set up is almost instant - would suit a less skilled operator - But - I bought the 4col SM52 and it ran like a dream for 10 years - top speed on bond paper/NCR - 10k on 4 colour 130-300gsm silk. It was a sad day for the operator when it was sold. I remember one problem was the wash up nozzles for the water would scale up because we didn't use deionised water at the start - but this is easily cleared using a paper clip and de-scaler.

Sir, you mean SM 52-4 or 5 is better than the Anicolor? by the way I am just buying a used one only and still hoping to find it somewhere in Europe. I already checked some of it from Press City and Press Exchange and our Retired Heidelberg mechanical technician told me to buy a machine not more than 50M in impressions and with nice optical condition because he told me that an operator who is good in treating his machine is like treating himself. Our company is not that big. We just started from a HD KORD 64 and after 10 years of operation me and my wife manage to owned 3 more Heidelberg offset machines and 2 Cylinder die cutters and Cutters. Our newest machine is a 1998 GTO 52-2 with DDS dampening purchased last October of 2019. the reason why I want to buy a SM52-4 is to make the production much faster in printing product labels, brochures etc. I hope that you can help me decide which is the best machine for us especially with the cheaper maintenance.

There will be a slight upwards cost difference between the 1998 GTO you purchased in 2019 & a 4 col SM 52 Anicolor. Even though the SM52 is a far superior machine the actual running costs will be so much more.

Sir you mean the cost from electricity thru the machine maintenance and paper spoilage allowance it will be much more? I think it is better that we buy a 4 color GTO.

Cost of machine will be astronomical compared to a GTO & yes the power consumption will be more also.

For the machine cost correct me if I am wrong.. For a used 2000-2010 SM 52-4 or 5 it is between 50,000-90,000 Euro and I am okay with that, for the cost of electricity, if ever that the power consumption will cost 2 times the cost of our GTO 52-2 it is also okay. I am just worried with the maintenance. Honestly, I don't know if I am impatient or annoyed because from our HD SORSZ where we used to print all our product labels jobs at 12.5" X 19" printing size our operator used to finish only one 4 color job about 2-3ooo impressions a day (8 hours) and now most of the time in our GTO 52-2 it is still the same. To tell you honestly our HD single color KORS is better when it comes with fast job change. It can print two 4color jobs a day (about 8-10 hours) with 2000 impressions but with different operator. All of our machines are Heidelberg but the GTO 52-2 has the best print output of all maybe because of the DDS Dampening system. This is one of the reason why I am looking forward to buy a SM 52-4 with alcolor dampening hoping that job change can go faster because of the autoplate system, preset and a job card because 90% of our jobs are just reprinting. Most of the time our GTO operator used to install and get the right registration and color matching for about an hour to 1 1/2 hours before he can go to production

Can the sm 52's job card save all of our product label jobs? for example job no 1 saved today. after 1-2 months we need to print it again. can we just look it in the saved jobs and the machine will automatically adjust the inking system?

Obviously the m/r time on an SM52 is so much quicker than a GTO because of its automation.. You will get many more jobs printed on a SM52 compared to any of your other machines.
Yes the job card will store 50 jobs & will store the ink settings from a job for as long as you want.
