I'm looking at a new printer to replace my ancient hp 750

    Should I consider buying a 1050c now that it's 2011 already :) ?

The things I like about the 1050c:
-can be purchased refurbished for $2000 or less
-CMYK ink cartridges and heads appear very economical
    -fairly fast
-drivers for the hp 1050c included in windows 7 from microsoft

    Things I don't know:
-is the 600 dpi quality acceptable today
-are the windows hp 1050c drivers any good? (does windows 7 64-bit include a 1050c driver or only 32-bit?)
-does the hp 1050c have enough memory to handle large banner jobs with photographs?

Any experiences with the 1050c would be appreciated, or any alternate suggestions. Looking to print photographic posters and banners from 2' x 3' to 3' x 15' in size economically.
