Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a recent premium packaging job we ran at our workshop and see how others here are handling similar setups.
We were working with 375g plain laser silver paper. The job required 4-color offset printing plus electro-white, followed by detailed Spot UV and a reverse frosted finish to create a high-contrast premium look.
The most interesting part of the job was the central water drop logo, which needed a precise 3D bulging (embossing) effect right over the Spot UV area. To keep efficiency high, we managed to do the grinding, die-cutting, and embossing all in one step using our Kylin Machine post-press equipment, using a combination of copper and resin plates.
I put together a quick video showing the workflow from the offset press to the final one-step die-cutting/embossing process. You can check out the machine in action here:
I'm curious—what kind of post-press machines are you all using for one-step embossing and die-cutting like this? Have you found any specific tricks to maintain perfect registration on heavy metallic boards?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Best regards,
Kylin Machinery Team
