Im putting together a booklet in Indesign, 32 pages. All the pages are setup in a sequence. page 1, 2, 3, 4...etc. So once folded to 8.5x11 it basically uses 8 sheets of 11x17 paper, front and back.

Here is the question. When you print those pages and staple them in a catalog form you have to know how to setup pages because they dont get printed in a sequence since pages are stapled on top of each other. so page 1 and 32 will be printed on the same side of the sheet, and so on. Does the printing company take care of how they setup pages to print and I dont worry about it or I have to do it on my own when I set them up?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks

Leave the pages in the 1,2,3,4 order in Indesign. Any printer worth anything will be able to easily impose them into a booklet when printing digitally or impose them how they need to on the sheet when imaging the plates for you.

(I've only run into one quick printer who didn't have the tools to easily impose a pdf file -- for $50 Cute PDF Pro makes it a one click to impose a pdf as needed into booklet or other so it's not an issue for even the smallest printer now... most will have more advanced pdf preflight tools or even use the RIP to impose with a click.)

I don't currently use InDesign, but if printing directly from indesign I thought you could use the Print Booklet function (CS3) or InBooklet pluging (CS2) to booklet impose when printing...

I'm not an indesign user -- is there a margin setting you can adjust to 0 as a test when printing this booklet imposed?

I will check that, as of now the spreads are set to 0.125 and the cover to 0.0125.
    Cheers,
