The biggest problem with an independent is the price of parts...if for example a laser is thought to be faulty, and you buy one, and it does not solve the problem, you are out big $$$.
How often does a laser go out? That is usually a tech trying a last resort for a problem he isn't sure about. Used iGen 3s are getting cheaper and getting a used one for parts is not as big of a price as it used to be.
