    Hi All,

Need to know how to calibrate the back gauge to the correct position.
I have an error of 0.35 mm and can't find how in the manual that came with the machine

    The machine from 1988

    Thanks

    Hi Mikado,

Can you locate the rotary encoder? It might be somewhere under the table.

I'll tell you a method. But I can't take any responsibility, right? The correct adjustment is entirely up to you.

    Method is rather easy.

First you have to locate the encoder.

Then move the backgauge to a known position. Say 70.00 mm (this is not the position shown in the display, you ignore the display and measure it by a ruler. )

    Here comes the tricky part,
Now your display probably displaying 70.35mm or 69.65mm
Now loosen the Encoder mounting screws and turn the body of the encoder clockwise or counterclockwise until the display reads exactly 70.00mm.

Make sure when you adjusting, the backgauge is not moving even a bit.

And then tighten the encoder mounting screws and you're good to go.

I'm reminding again, please be careful. I'm not responsible for screwing up anything.

Do it and let me know the result.

    Thanks NimeshSilva,

I did that and looks fine but the proximity sensor located at c. 555 mm may be the culprit

Will keep an eye on it and will see

    Thanks again
