Ive had a problem now for a couple of months with the metering and water chrome taking ink. Were using the same etch, and chrome desensitizer.
We haven't changed anything so I cant understand why this is happening

If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

try scrubbing down the rollers with vim or such . just nothing to abrasive and leave it on over night, then wipe it clean with water before starting up the next day

Clean the chrome with plate cleaner give it a good scrub with a rag .... then completely wipe off and make sure you dry the chrome completely ...shouldn't ink up
Try now should be just fine.
It's something to do with the chemical your using at end of shift clean up .
After u do a roller wash at the end of your day Hit the rollers with water to wash out all chemicals .. let me know how you go
