Does anyone know how thick, in thousandths, of stock you can get through a Xerox C75/J75 without damaging anything? Some really spongy papers can fall near the GSM rating, but be very thick. We would like to run some 20pt C1S that is under 350 GSM, which others say they can run reliably on our machine, but I am worried the physical thickness will cause damage, possibly to the fuser, as it may not be able to move apart that far.

we have been running and duplexing 350gsm stock on our C75 for a while now. It will put a wear mark on your fuser but that only becomes an issue when you try to run larger paper through. It may be advisable to keep one fuser for smaller paper and one fuser for larger paper, and swap them out as needed. The only issue we have run into is that the registration can get thrown pretty far out after a lot of impressions on 300+ gsm paper, especially when trying to duplex but that is fairly easy to adjust for.
