Hi Gents,

We are getting this error when print on the press "MD: Malfunction in data transfer." The four seven segment display shows "9999". Please see attached pictures.

Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you turn the machine off and on, on the main drive, does a message appear?

Yes, I tried to switch on and off the machine repeatedly but this error MD: Malfunction in data transfer appeared. It's the only error that appeared. I tried to push the button Mode (M) and Up/Down key in the main drive power board to check if I can see other errors but the seven segment display doesn't change, only 9999. I don't know if there's a procedure to go to the Mode key. Thanks.

Is there a way to possibly navigate thru the parameter 159 to see if there are other errors?
Any other checks/measurements I need to do on the main drive power converter board to confirm it's defective?

One other info I notice, there are red lights "on" in the computer console underneath beside the power supply.

Par. 159 is for reading errors. Here the reader is dead.

Thank you Drukman for the reply. This means that the power converter board is dead. Anyone who can supply the part? Do I need to enter the parameters once I buy the part or it's a plug and play.

I can repair it, but the shipping time to Europe is …….

try to check all internal cable plugs, especially the cable at both ends for the main board as marked in the picture. 

or re-plugin them and check the power supply board underneath the main board.

I did checked all those flat cables. I also measured +5vdc at the top board where the encoder and rs485 cables are connected although I don't have led lights on H101, 102 and 103.

I also measured 24vdc at X16. I'll open today the power supply board at the bottom and check the output. Thank you people. Happy Holidays to all.

Just an update, I fixed the board field controller and now I don't have error display "9999". I tried to jog today but I got "UWR: Speed not admissible". "UWR: Analog input card is faulty". Where is this card located? Please see attached error display. Can someone please advise what's the next steps I should take? Thank you.

Additional information I forgot to include. When I jog, the brake released and the main drive turned about 2 degrees then stop. I cleared the error but the same thing happened again. The 7 segment displays doesn't show any error.

step 1; check field supply voltage when the machine is at a standstill and when you press the button for inching (when the motor turns 2 degrees)
step 2; check the main motor encoder for its coupling with the motor shaft and any damage/defect.

The field supply is 51 vdc at standstill. I didn't measure the voltage during jog.

I'll check later the encoder coupling. Thanks for the advise.
