Rip for canon

ive been looking into these inkjet films and plates to print on a inkjet printer. I have a wide format cannon, and have ordered samples of the film and polyplate stuff. but the canon has no postscript in its original ergosoft driver, and the postscript rip for this costs thousands????? all i want is to try to print nice halftones and see how the film and plates work out and not spend thousands ending up with crappy plates and films.. so the question is does anyone know where i can find a demo of what i want to try, or does anyone use one and whats your experiences....
at the minute i use a postscript laser and film and burn into metal posi plates, and so far this has been far the best way.
