RIP 9.02 DEVOPEN()->-1 error

Has anyone ever received this error on a rip 9.02 runnin on windows pro 7? the rip has trapping and IVS for my ryobi press. The techs can't figure it out. the system runs as it should until you release a file to be printed then this error pops up and the rip crashes.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED
