Ricoh C811DN Counter Issue

On PC platform, printing from InDesign CS2 (and some other applications), when printing documents with some pages color and others black and white, our printer is counting all pages as color. Since we're leasing and paying per page, we're paying 7 cents extra per print this way and need to get accurate counts before we print in volume. One tech guessed that InDesign is telling the printer that every page is color -- anybody know this issue better and how to fix it?
