Hi guys,
We finally went ahead and bought a used polar 76em, 1985
Its been working beautifully so far,10 hours a day/single shift.
other than few errors and blown fuses its held up pretty well.

i managed to break the safety solenoid thanks to operator error right now,
I need some help installing and replacing the safety bolt by myself,
I would love some help on the same,

Thanks in advance guys.

:D

Hi!

Before I am able to help I have to understand the problem.
Using the Polar terminology the safety is a big locking device for the knife carrier. This should be never changed.
But there is as well a screw inside the connecting rod (from the gearbox to the knife carrier) which is sometime broken and has to be from time to time replaced. Therefore the operating instructing has an instruction (shear bolt protected pulling rod) on page 14.
Do you have the operating manual and is the instruction the information you are locking for?

Good luck

    Hello Naim,
Can you explain what happened at the beginning?
It is necessary to imagine what happened in consequence. Right now, looking your picture, you have an electronic trouble inside the machine.
    Some card was broken.

    hello oabrahim
the blue cable (0) is connected to the phase and the black and phase cable (R) is connected to the blue (0)

When I remove this electronic board, nothing appears on the monitor.

Hello, please send a picture of the main connection when I can see the terminals.

If you connected a live phase to neutral, this would mean the transformer supplying rectifiers for DC low voltage for electronics would have been doubled. This may well have blown chips on multiple boards. I think you need a complete set of printed circuit boards.

    Thank you andy martin
It seems to me that the entire system needs to be changed because we have no chance of fixing it as it is.

It may be very expensive to replace all the printed circuit boards, the is a company in the USA that supply a full guillotine control system that can be retrofitted to any guillotine. Company is called Microcut

    Hello andy
yes indeed, I have an idea to get a universal device
Do you have a website or contact?

  • Look on the Internet for coltar and Peterson they supply guillotine control systems. Or speak to Premier Guillotine Systems in the UK 0044 1274 499033. They can advise and help ask for Peter Kennedy, say Andy said you can help.
