Question on sales commissions?

I was wondering what the industry standard for sales commissions was, based on the amount of the entire job. If the sales person is receiving a base salary and then brings in a $5,000 order, what percentage of that would be fair. Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Between 4 and 6% is what I normally see.
