QMDI PRO Delivery Problem

    Hello Everybody

    We need some help over here our qmdi press is having some issues When Transferring paper from the back cylinder to the delivery grippers on the drive side it tears half of the sheet where the grippers attach any idea what can be causing this thanks..... Attached is a photo of what is happing

    Is it happening every sheet or did you just pull out the ones it is happening to?

    the pressman was tinkering with the gripper bar and noticed When He Pulled And pushed the gripper Bar the drive side has movement And the operator side has no movement

    It sounds like the chain may be loose on that side.

    we also thought that so we tightened the chain to max setting still no good we are thinking its got to be a loose bolt holding the sprocket that holds the chain but don't know how to get back there without breaking down the press

    That would be a problem if the sprocket has moved. It is pinned with a large taper pin. If the taper pin broke due to a serious press jam (The only way I have seen them break.) you will have quite a job on your hands. There is no room in the press to knock the pins out, especially if it has been snapped. You will have to cut the shaft and install a new one.

    hello Paul Would you know about how much down time and how much it would cost to repair that a ball park figure ..............
