Producing hard cover books?

  • Thanks stratis -- these look quite unique! A lot of labor, but plenty doable. I have to look into what the cost of materials is buying the easy fastbind supplies to see if it's economically feasible -- the machines themselves look like a great way for me to get started. (the only other machines I've seen even close are the bourg perfect binding softcover, not hardcover, machines and those look very large and expensive in comparison.)

    UniBind is the simple solution

The Unibind system produces a great finished hard bound book and is so simple a monkey can run it. I purchased one of these online from Lloyds of Indiana it was only a little over $300.00. I bought the smaller Unibind-138

  • The cost of the hardback blanks at $7 to $8 a book is a bit high. Are you able to get the letter sized or 12x12 hardcover blanks cheaper? Or are there some non-oem hardcover blank options for such an inexpensive on-demand thermal hardcover binding system that are cheaper?

Also how durable is this binding? The edit video http://video.yahoo.com/watch/598499/2893503 makes me wonder how the binding will hold up over time?
